Along with her husband, Larry, she served in Mali, West Africa, for five years and Madagascar for five years. Carmen's focus was on the needs of the local women, and she initiated successful self-help programs for them.

Carmen and Larry also served in Haiti, Costa Rica and Central America, where she developed a work/study program providing jobs for needy students, which enabled them to continue their educaiton.

Carmen is passionate about leading women to the healing fountain, where tired, discouraged, fearful, doubting, and wounded hearts can find encouragement, affirmation, joy, and peace.
